vintage early 1940's PHONOLA portable crank record player. Made by Waters Conley Co. Cannot find model # on it but think it is a 946. Stands on end like a suitcase with leather carrying handle to move. Lays flat with crank in front to play. Locking cover brace holds lid open when in use. Case is 16 1/4" across. 13" deep. 7" high (when closed). Spring lid chrome needle holder - at least a dozen new needles in there - see photo. I gave it about a dozen cranks to check and it started right up. The on/off control works. The faster/slower control works. Felt is pretty well disintegrated on turntable. Did not play a 78 so cannot answer about speaker or playing ability. Missing grommet around crank holder. Tiny paint spots on outside of case. Braces and snap locks all intact. For parts or restoration or use. Thanks for looking.
