Consumer Electronics / Portable Audio & Headphones / Personal MiniDisc Recorders
Sony MZ-R2 MD Walkman MiniDisc Digital Recorder - working and recording w original 6VDC. Just dusted off from a lot of years on the shelf, but it's playing well, and sounds great, as I type this. Pretty clean, with a bit of paint rubbed from the plastic below the playback buttons. I was a big mini-disc DJ in the 90s, and still think it sounds better than the first gen MP3s we traded it for. I haven't fully test driven all the record features, except to record with an earphone in the mic input, and it recorded just fine. Can't speak to all the other edit features, but if you already have a stack of MiniDiscs you need access to, or need to digitally archive, this would work great. I'll toss in 10 music MDs from my DJ days, and some blanks if I can find some. Comes as shown. The rechargeable Lithium LIP12 is no longer chargeable, but replaceable for $20, however, the 6volt 800ma AC adapter will power it perfectly. It's happy on this solid surface, and responding positively to all the button inputs. I think this unit will be good for accessing your archive. Probably going to last longer getting used than sitting on a shelf. All the display options, and playback settings are working.
