DESCRIPTION
1Xpression returns to the Pro-Ject lineup for a limited time in the form of 1Xpression III SB. Assembled for photo. This design leads with performance-oriented features like electronic speed control, an acrylic platter, carbon fiber tonearm with VTA adjustment, conical isolation feet & a factory-mounted Pro-Ject Pick it 25A phono cartridge.
The carbon fiber tonearm suppresses unwanted vibrations within the arm tube and is height adjustable for use with a wide range of phono cartridges.
The factory-mounted Pick It 25A phono cartridge is a custom design manufactured by Ortofon based on their famous OM series. This model combines an elliptical stylus with silver-plated copper in the coils, for excellent tracking, and a wonderfully open, transparent sound.
Electronic speed control with built-in Pro-Ject “Speed Box” technology allows you to switch between 33 & 45rpm with the flip of a switch. 78rpm playback is also supported with a manual belt swap (safe playback of 78 RPM shellac discs requires the use of a 78rpm-capable stylus, sold separately).
A resonance-free acrylic platter provides consistent rotational mass and further reduces internal vibration for excellent tracing of the record surface. A felt record mat is included but not required- in most cases better performance and less static is possible without the mat.
The adjustable conical feet allow for simple leveling of the turntable system and are extremely effective at ‘draining’ unwanted resonance from the plinth. For best results, please use on a stable shelf or turntable base such as Pro-Ject’s “Ground it” turntable supports.
Other performance features include a low-friction stainless steel bearing in brass bushing for ultra-smooth & steady platter rotation, gold-plated RCA jacks, and Pro-Ject’s Connect it E semi-balanced low-impedance phono cable. The 1Xpression III SB is simply a bargain when it comes to performance.
Finished in Pro-Ject’s lacquered piano gloss paint, the ‘table is just as pleasing to the eye as it is to the ear. A hinged dust cover is included for your convenience, and like all Pro-Ject turntables, 1Xpression III SB is handmade in Europe.
