The occasional "crackling" that plagues some of the other Creative Labs cards is present on this one. It is typically a simple fix of replacing capacitors. That is no rush, however, the caps still have life in them and are not bulging/explosion-prone.
For the most part, sound is decent including the onboard synthesizer! Tested working on a WinME machine.
