1912 Dictaphone Dictating Machine Type A Model 12 Compact Countertop Version
Is used to record an executive's voice onto a wax cylinder. A secretary would play back the recording at whatever speed desired, and type up the letter or memo. The device appears to be complete. The motor has a flying weight governor system to regulate the speed.
